Previous Members in our `` Members Spotlight ``

Michelle Saldutti

Best event manager and enthusiastic in contributing to community development. Belongs to very active Ex-Lions Club Members ( Father &  Uncle ).

Our latest member under the Spotlight is Michelle (Sooby) Saldutti, a member of the Bensalem Lions Club since 2015. Michelle has been a Bucks County resident her entire life. The highlight of Michelle’s life are her three daughters AND three grandchildren, where she devotes as much time for them as possible.

Michelle is the assistant to the Parx Casino Director of Diversity and Inclusion and Community Development. For her, the Lion’s Club has sentimental memories, as both her father and uncle were active members while she was growing up. She acknowledges that the people she has met in our Bensalem Lions are a wonderful group of tremendously caring individuals and is proud to be associated with them. These, says Michele, are the kind of people who make a community great!

Our 70th Anniversary Dinner Celebration on April 18 was a tremendous success, primarily due to Michelle’s effort in making this happen. We are indebted to Michelle and we are proud to call her a Lion.

Thank you, Michelle.

Kids Activist , Mentor & Active Dress in Costume for Events

We feature one of our latest new members to Bensalem Lions, Al Weigel, who prefers being called “AJ.” AJ is a 2014 graduate of Bensalem Township High School, where he participated in the Junior ROTC program. He completed one year of studies at Bucks County Community College. Single at age 21, AJ has been working at Wawa, Bristol/Galloway Roads for three years. His hobbies include archery and golf, and a little tinkering with a bowling team. He lives with his grandmother, Nancy Hooven, also a recent member to our Lions club and takes pride in looking after her. And, AJ and his grandmother are regular participants at our Board and Dinner meetings.

AJ’s primary focus is working with kids. He’s a volunteer for the Big Brothers/Sisters as a mentor. AJ has been active with our organization dressing in costume at many of our fundraisers especially at the Texas Roadhouse Restaurant, as Frosty the Snowman, a reindeer and Santa Claus. His character impressions are a big hit among the youth who attend these events with their parents. With young active members like AJ, our club will continue to grow for many years to come.

Welcome aboard, AJ!

Active Flea Market Member, Regular Costume Appearance for Kids,  Active Fundraiser & Always Ready to HELP with SMILE.

Bruce has been a member since March 2015, displaying unwavering commitment to our Lion’s Club by participating in Board and Dinner meetings, fundraisers, charity events, and just about anything else that helps promote ourselves in the Bensalem community. Bruce gives a lot of his free time to bring laughs to kids by appearing in various costumes, like sponge Bob or the elf in December at several restaurant locations. He’s a familiar face at our Saturday flea markets, engaging with the vendors and people looking for that “great deal.”  If the club sponsors anything for the public, you can bet that Bruce will be there and with a SMILE.
