Bensalem Township School District

The Lions Club is grateful to the Bensalem Township School District for extending a site to hold our Saturday flea markets during the Spring/Summer/Fall season. More importantly, through its assistance, the Bensalem Lions Club awards five $1,000 college scholarships each year to graduating students based on merit and accomplishments.

We appreciate the support services received from the Mayor’s Office, the Emergency Medical Services, the Fire Department, and Parks & Recreation–particularly individual staff members who have volunteered their time in many activities sponsored by the Lions Club throughout the year.



Kohl’s provides assistance to the Lions for our Food Basket program during the fall/winter holiday season.They also help us annually with our Breakfast With Santa, giving out toys to needy kids. We purchase these toys from them at available discount and especially during published sales.


Texas Roadhouse

At Texas Roadhouse in Bensalem, we participate in “Kids Night,” two Tuesdays in April (Easter season) and every Tuesday in December until Christmas where Lion members dress up in kid characters, who greet and mingle with them during dinner. Also, Texas Roadhouse donates food for our Christmas food drive.



Another great place to hold our monthly Lions Board Meetings. Taranova’s is always accommodating to our needs especially with their private room for dining and conducting business affairs.

The Business Business Directory has proven to be an excellent networking source for promoting Lion’s events and fund-raising activities.


Golden Corral  Buffet & Grill


We help promote Golden Corral’s support of veterans and military personnel in Bensalem, by selling tickets for their breakfast buffets that always include door prizes, raffles, and a variety of prizes.


Friends Helping Friends

“Friends Helping Friends” of Boscovs allows Lions to sell store discount cards at their store one-time each year, as a significant fund-raiser for the Club. As soon as the next one is scheduled, it will be posted on our Events page.


Lions Dstrict 14A Charitable Foundation

We fully support the Foundation to help improve the quality of life of the blind, vision and hearing impaired and physically handicapped in Bucks County. It is operated fully by volunteer Lions throughout District 14A.



This renowned Casino in Bensalem generously provides us with assistance for our Annual Food Basket program.


OVERBROOK School for Blind

We will support and will assist in the referral of Township students to Overbrook who are blind, visually impaired or living with other challenges to have the greatest opportunity to experience active and fulfilling lives.


Leader Dogs

Leader Dogs for the Blind was founded in 1939. Their goal was to train dogs to lead the blind and to provide facilities and means whereby trained dogs could be matched to a blind master. Today, over ten thousand blind people have become self-sufficient through the use of a leader dog. We  financially support them annually.


Lions Camp Kirby

Camp Kirby provides for a 2-week camp for Deaf and Hard of Hearing children and their siblings. Our Lions Club covers the cost for sponsoring two children each year to attend.

Philadelphia Soul

For the past several years, the Philadelphia Soul has graciously helped us promote an outing for our Lion members, their families and friends at a scheduled date in the summer, at the Wells Fargo Center. The Soul is a professional arena football team competing in the Arena Football League.

Trenton Thunder

As with the Philadelphia Soul, our Lions club, its families, and friends have enjoyed watching the Trenton Thunder play Triple A AA baseball (affiliate of the New York Yankees), at Arm and Hammer Park in Trenton, NJ. at discounted prices. The stadium is easily accessible, cheap parking, & plenty of refreshments to buy.



Uhaul of Bensalem has provided us extensive support in utilizing their rental vehicles at a reduced expense to transport loads of food and other supplies during our recent end of year, holiday food distribution for families in need in Bensalem.

Knights Medical Associates

Dr. Umar Farooq, M.D. of Knights Medical Associates and a Bensalem Lions Club member, has been instrumental in hosting kite competitions and exhibitions at our Saturday morning flea markets at Cecilia Snyder Middle School on Hulmeville Avenue.

In partnership with Santander Bank, we now have an online Merchant Services Business account that enables us to think long-term for accomplishing our financial goals and objectives.


The Bucks County Library System

The Bucks County Library System (Bensalem Branch) is a full service system that helps support our Lion’s mission–like “trying something new,” library staff reading books to children at our Flea Market with their guardians.

The Bucks County Association

The Bucks County Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired is a private non-profit 501 (c) 3 organization located in Newtown, PA devoted to providing resources for people with blindness or other visual impairment that minimizes their ability to meet life’s daily challenges and realize their continued self-worth and value to our community. The Bensalem Lions Club supports their mission by collecting donated eyeglasses & delivering them to the Association for eventual distribution to those in need. Last year we delivered 2,658 eyeglasses to them.




Bristol Township Senior Center- Active Life Center

Our Lion’s club shares the use of their facilities (banquet hall) as well as help promote our fund raising activities.


Florist Flower Girls

This dedicated supporter works with many non-profit organizations, especially in the Bensalem School District and the lions with their fundraisers. Offers discounts on their purchasers. Excellent provider of flowers and food baskets.

Bensalem Country Club

The Bensalem Country Club provides us with the best golf course in the Township to host our Annual Jacob Pratt Golf Outing. Proceeds benefit the sight-impaired. The annual golf outing is generally scheduled the Friday before Father’s Day.


Lions Eye Bank

Its Mission: The Lions Eye Bank of Delaware Valley is committed to enhancing a person’s quality of life by restoring or improving vision through corneal transplantation, medical research and education. The Bank is celebrating its 60th Anniversary this year.


Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International

The research foundation is committed to finding a cure for those individuals living with the disease and delivery of new therapies and devices that will ease the daily burden and challenges of managing type 1 diabetes and on the prevention of diabetes complications.

The Lions Beacon Lodge

The Lions Beacon Lodge, near Mt. Union in central Pennsylvania is a 583 acre summer camp for children and adults with special needs including blindness, deafness and many other physical and mental challenges.


Scheie Eye Institute

When possible, we assist Bensalem residents in securing services from the Eye Institute regarding eye problem consolation and treatment of every kind.


Painting with a Twist

Painting with a Twist offers an excellent fund-raiser opportunity to learn how to paint your own beautiful work of art. Our sponsor provides the canvas, paint brushes and a fun-filled evening with friends.


Mankara Orthodox Christian Church

The motto of the Mankara Orthodox Christian Church, located at 4136 Hulmeville, Road, Bensalem is simply this: “Not To Be Served, But To Serve,” not unlike our Lions motto, “To Serve.” In the recent past, St Gregorious provided a substantial contribution to the Bensalem Lions Club. We are most appreciative.


Busy Bees, Pottery & Art Studio

At Busy Bees in Bensalem, Lion members and friends engage in a variety of fund-raiser activities, easily creating lasting memories in fun projects.


St. Mary Family Resource Center

Blind and visually impaired children have been enjoying an all expense paid, one week summer vacation at the Helen L. Diller Vacation Home for Blind children, supported by all Lions in the District. Three locations are available: Philadelphia, Forked River area in N. J., and Christiana, DE.

Kiwanis Club of Bensalem

We share mutual interests with the Kiwanis Club of Bensalem to provide programs that better the lives for the children in our local community.  We often participate and support each other’s activities and fund raisers.


Rotary Club of Bensalem

The Rotary Club of Bensalem shares our goal to improve the life of Bensalem residents in need, while providing fellowship and camaraderie to its memberships. We often participate and support each other’s activities and fund raisers.


Penndel Mental Health Center

Penndel is a private, non-profit mental health center providing psychiatric & social services to residents of Bucks County for over 40 years. Our Lions Club has provided financial support to this Center, the most recent included the purchase of back-packs for its residents.

Lions Recycle for Sight

Throughout the year, Lions, Leos, Lionesses and other volunteers collect used eyeglasses and deliver them to regional Lions Eyeglass Recycling Centers (LERCs). LERC volunteers clean, sort by prescription strength and package the glasses. Recycled glasses are distributed to people in need in low and middle income communities where they will have the greatest impact. You can drop your eyes off at the Bensalem Public Library (3700 Hulmeville Road); there is a collection box clearly marked for them.

 Ronald McDonald House,Philadelphia

The Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House supports families of seriously ill children by creating a community of comfort and hope–its programs include two Ronald McDonald Houses, two Ronald McDonald Family Rooms at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, a Hospitality Kiosk at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children, and a Ronald McDonald Camp. We have supported this organization in the past.


Bensalem African Methodist Episcopal Church


The historic Bensalem African Methodist Episcopal (AME) church is the oldest black church in the Township, one of the early churches founded in the A.M.E. denomination (and best known for being the site of where Benjamin Franklin conducted his famous kite experiment). The Bensalem Township Lions Club in coordination with other sponsors in the local community helped restore the church, beginning in January 2015.


Bensalem School of Gymnastics

Bensalem School of Gymnastics is located at 1581 Bridgewater Road, Bensalem, PA 19020. They provide lot of healthy activities for young children like summer camps, cheer teams, birthday parties , health &  fitness and movie night events.



American Foundation for Blind

We continually support the Foundation that provides a full range of services for visually impaired seniors in Bucks County.


Just for the Kids

Just for the Kids, a non-profit education foundation, serving the students of the Bensalem Township School District raises money to fund special, innovative projects in all public schools in our District. We support the foundation by sponsoring or hosting activities for them throughout the year.

Helen L. Diller, Vacation Home for Blind Children

Blind and visually impaired children have been enjoying an all expense paid, one week summer vacation at the Helen L. Diller Vacation Home for Blind children, supported by all Lions in the District. Three locations are available: Philadelphia, Forked River area in N. J., and Christiana, DE.
